I’m Artur and I am a photographer based in Bristol, UK. I have a background in Documentary and Editorial photography, having dedicated most of my career to portraiture, covering a diversity of events and pursuing personal projects.
Melez Studio has been named in homage to my grandparents Floriano and Dora Melez. Their love was unique, eternal. They were married for over 60 years and their life together has always been an inspiration to me. Neither of them are with us anymore, but the memories I have of them are forever longlasting.
Documentary Wedding Photography
I love creating narratives through my images. I work in a non-intrusive way, aiming to capture moments as they unfold, truly conveying the essence of your wedding day.
Photographing people is what got me into photography in the first place. Wedding photography allows me to do what I love and I am always looking for characters in the crowd to photograph. Along with the reportage wedding images I create, I sneak in loads of individual portraits of your guests too. I also like making sure we dedicate enough time to construct beautiful family portraits - those that your family members will treasure for years to come.
With every wedding photography package I include an engagement shoot. However, If you are only thinking of having some couple portraits done, I will happily hear your ideas and bounce back with some suggestions so we could create an unique portfolio.
If you have a passion for something, a hobby, or want to take memorable portraits of you and/or of your family; If you are simply looking to have some portraits taken for professional purposes (headshots), get in touch to chat about what we could do. I work either in the studio or on location.
I am originally from Curitiba, south Brazil, and have been living in the UK for 15 years now.
I studied photography at college in Oxford and I have a degree in Press and Editorial Photography from Falmouth University.
Photography is my passion and it has allowed me to experience life in so many different ways - working with indigenous communities in Brazil, documenting a variety of events and visiting places around the world.
The most incredible and enjoyable aspect of my work is the connections I build with people - and wedding photography is no different.
Getting to know your friends and family on your special day is at the heart of what I do so I can capture the best possible memories of your day.
